About Kids Program Providers

Kids Program Providers is a New York City non-profit organization dedicated to creating transformative extended day experiences for students in underserved communities.

Our Mission

"Our mission is to create a transformative experience that empowers our students to become the best they can be — inspiring a love for the arts and sports, and building habits that improve lives through hope and diversity."

Our Story

Kids Program Providers was founded specifically to address a gap in NYC's extended day landscape: schools in underserved communities that lack DYCD funding and have no clear path to after-school programming for their students.

KPP was built to navigate the NYC voucher system on behalf of schools — handling DOH compliance, SACC licensing, family enrollment, and the full operational structure required to launch and sustain extended day programming.

Once a school is on the voucher system and programming is established, KPP also partners with schools to prepare them to apply for DYCD funding when those opportunities open — building a long-term foundation for their students.

The Social Development Model

KPP's programming is grounded in the Social Development Model — a research-based framework that builds protective factors in young people by strengthening their bonds to school, family, and community.

Opportunities

Students are given meaningful opportunities to contribute and participate in activities that matter to them and their community.

Skills

Students develop the skills needed to succeed — artistic, athletic, academic, and social-emotional.

Recognition

Students receive recognition for their contributions and growth, reinforcing positive behavior and self-worth.

Bonding

Strong bonds to school, peers, and caring adults are cultivated — the foundation of long-term positive outcomes.

  • Enhanced interpersonal and social communication
  • A sense of connectedness to others and their school
